Downtown (BW)
1999-2016
Having grown up in an historic city like Paris with so much Renaissance and Classical architecture, when I came to the United States and Canada, I would stare up at the sky scrapers and think of the first 10-story buildings designed and built by Louis Sullivan in Chicago. I would think about his ambitions and scale and then look up high into the shrouded tops of the great buildings of my new home San Francisco and the famous skyline of New York and the modern efforts of Vancouver. My camera always pointing up into the skies where clouds could be torn on the pointed spires of these phenomenal structures. I captured them here in B&W to emphasize their form and shape as well as their dominance over the streets below.
